Bishop's pilgrimage to back heritage bid.

THE recently-consecrated Bishop of Jarrow took to the roads to back a major heritage bid.
The Right Reverend Mark Bryant took part in yesterday's Bede's Way Pilgrimage from St Paul's Church in Jarrow to Monkwearmouth in Sunderland.
The walk is part of the campaign to highlight the joint bid by Wearmouth-Jarrow to become a World Heritage Site.
If the bid is successful, it will make the dual visitor attraction of Jarrow and Sunderland as culturally significant as Hadrian's Wall or India's Taj Mahal.
