A new version of Sky in Google Earth has been launched by Internet search engine company Google, including several new features providing new tools enabling users to explore the stars and galaxies, learn basic astronomy concepts, view historical sky maps and receive details of current sky events.

The new features include Earth & Sky Podcasts, providing information about stars, galaxies, planets and events coming from the NPR Earth and Sky programme; along with updates on recent cosmological events from VOEventNet.
