BARRY WALSH seems to imply that it was somehow hypocritical of the Pope,only days after meeting Tony Blair, to ask God to bestow upon political leadersthe wisdom and courage to seek and find humane, just and lasting solutions toconflicts, especially Iraq.
To my mind, this statement was a direct rebuke to Mr Blairs previous mistakes,undermining him. To pray that Mr Blairs successors are wiser and braver then hewas is hardly a pat on the back.
