SUFFOLK -- SUFFOLK - Alton Gerlin Butler, 82, passed away Dec. 22, 2007. He was born in Suffolk, the son of the late Viola Holland Butler Jernigan and Thomas Walter Butler. He was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II where he received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.
