EIGHT million television viewers have been enjoying the BBC's five-part period drama Cranford.
Starring Dame Judi Dench and based on the novel by Elizabeth Gaskell, Cranford features a 19th village not unlike one much closer to home.
Just outside Kettering, the two parishes of Cranford St Andrew and Cranford St John are separated by a small brook.
Like the fictional programme they also have leafy lanes with thatched cottages and a quiet way of life.
