Soldier killed in grenade attack.

A FORMER Oundle School pupil has been killed while fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Captain David Hicks, who was in the C (Essex) Company, 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, died after being injured in an attack on his patrol base, north-east of Sangin in Helmand province on Saturday.

The 26-year-old, who lived in Wokingham, Berkshire, was described as an "outstanding officer" who always led from the front.
