A young trainee nurse knows more than most about the magic of Christmas.

Four years ago tomorrow, Andrea Evans received a gift that money cannot buy - the gift of life.

Doctors had to carry out the kidney transplant because when she was just 16, in October 2002, Andrea had been struck down by a potentially deadly form of meningitis.

"Because I had my transplant on Christmas Day, it makes it so much more special," she said.
