Laburnum suffered their second successive cup defeat to Hollingwood, although the scoreline in this Alma Cup tie did not truly reflect the balance of the game, with Laburnum putting up a tremendous fight against their Division One opponents.

Laburnum welcomed back Jonny Turner and Matt Mosely to the side beaten in the Derbyshire Cup three weeks previously and the latter was immediately involved, crossing to the back post where Andy Smith narrowly failed to convert.
