'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not acreature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimneywith care, In hopes that Santa soon would be there.
While the children were nestled all snug in their beds, Mum and Dad had a drinkand rested their legs; And Mum in the kitchen, at the end of her tether, Thetidying up seemed to go on for ever! When out on the lawn there arose such aclatter, Oh no! It's the neighbours, come round for a natter.
