Specifically, this text chronicles the sociohistorical engagement of rock music with socialist political policy in the former Soviet Union (mainly Russia), Belarus, Ukraine, the German Democratic Republic, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, the former Yugoslavia (primarily Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia), and Bulgaria.
