David Cameron faced a fresh row over Conservative Party funding yesterday after Midland business leaders who donated more than pounds 2.8 million to the party revealed the name of a previously unknown member.

The controversial Midlands Industrial Council has donated pounds 195,000 to the party since entrepreneur David Grove joined three months ago. However, his membership was not revealed publicly until inquiries were made by The Birmingham Post on Monday.
