DAKOTA MINING CORPORATION REPORTS PROGRESS IN RESUMING OPERATION AT STIBNITE MINE

DENVER, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Dakota Mining Corporation (AMEX: DKT; Toronto: DMC) reported that the National Marine Fisheries Service ("NMFS") issued a biological opinion on the Company's planned mining activities at the Stibnite mine. This biological opinion will allow the U.S. Forest Service to issue the necessary permits to reinstate mining activities. Stibnite mine is located near Yellow Pine, Idaho and is a seasonal open pit, heap leach operation.
