A Pretoria father is greatly relieved after hospital staff finally managed to procure suitable blood platelets for his 18-year-old daughter, who is on life support.
Richard Adam's daughter Samantha is receiving treatment for suspected meningitis in Kloof Hospital.
Adam said yesterday his daughter's blood platelet count was a tenth of what it should be and the hospital struggled to source platelets for a transfusion.
