The books of Esther and the Song of Songs does not contain either of the two most common names of God 'even though at least one or the other appears in every other book of the Bible.' The fact that none of the seven names of God appears in the Song of Songs is largely due to the patriarchical perspectives of rabbinical literature which define sexual heroism as abstinence and denial.
