Oliver the bull mastiff has been named the RSPCA's Dog of the Year after the Echo revealed his bravery.
As a five-month-old pup he was dumped on the streets of Easington Lane.
He was found wandering in a distressed state, painfully thin, and suffering from an eye infection.
Surgeons had to remove one of his eyes, and he went on to lose the sight in his other eye.
But two years later, Oliver is now officially top dog.
