FORT EDWARD - Irving Tissue Inc. will receive $600,000 from the state to help pay for a $34.6 million upgrade of its Fort Edward plant, Empire State Development Corp. announced Tuesday.
Irving, which acquired the former Kimberly-Clark Corp. and Decora Industries Inc. plants in 1996 and 2003 respectively, is buying new equipment, demolishing 14 buildings and replacing them with a new 90,000-square-foot building that Empire State Development said will optimize production flow and make the facility more efficient.
