The $1,299 HP LaserJet 5MP is a robust laser printer that offers excellent output quality that meets the needs of most small office and home business users. Although relatively slow at 6 ppm, the LaserJet 5MP provided sharp text and line graphics in a number of benchmark tests. It handled a 288-dpi Photoshop file without error, for example, and although 40% slower than the Apple LaserWriter Select 360, it will be adequate for the printing needs of most users.
