TODAY, we remember the life and works of St. Charles Borromeo, patron saint of seminarians.
St. Charles Borromeo was born on October 2, 1538, in the castle of Arona, Italy. He was born to Count Gilbert Borromeo and Margaret Medici, the sister of Pope Pius IV. He was the third among the six children of the couple. His younger years were spent between the Castle of Arona and Palazzo Borromeo in Milan.
