Anglers report a rise in catches as winter species emerge.

SKEGNESS Pier Angling Club (SPAC) has been active recently, with a number of matches held from local beaches.

Winter species have now started to put in their appearance, which has resulted in an upturn of catches.

The latest results are as follows:

Match 17, Moggs Eye, Chapel St Leonards

1 Ken Belcher, 435cm, 15 whiting; 2 Mark Holmes, 395cm, 12 whiting, two dabs; 3 Dave Burr, 328cm, 12 whiting.

Longest round fish, Ken Belcher, 41cm whiting; longest flat fish, shared, Dave Parker, 27cm flounder, and Paul Marshall, 27cm dab.
