THE sight of sheep grazing on an area of the North York Moors at Fylingdales could be a thing of the past.
Talks are under way in a bid to replace sheep with Exmoor ponies after a 1,900 hectare area in Fylingdales was found to be growing wild.
Park officials said land owners no longer find it economical to graze sheep there and they fear other wildlife may be unable to survive in the changed habitat.
