Fun, food and very nearly a transatlantic visitor meant a fruit farm's fourth celebration of Apple Day was a hit.
Games such as pin the maggot on the apple and find the golden apple were played at the SummerHouse, at Bridge Barn Farms, Monks Eleigh, which opened up its orchards on Sunday.
Parents enjoyed bowls of apple pie as their children were tasked with making monsters out of their Granny Smiths.

One-day pub

Village church treasurer denies fraud
; A FORMER church treasurer denied 12 charges of fraud yesterday at Ipswich Crown Court. Peter Bentley, 65, of Monks Eleigh, near Hadleigh, Suffolk, is accused in connection with his work at St Peter's, in the same village. The case was adjourned until later this year.
