THERE were screams of delight and annoyance throughout Banbury last week when the annual Michaelmas Fair returned to town.

Thousands of people joined the carnival atmosphere as an array of stalls and rides transformed the town centre.

The fair was officially opened last Wednesday when Cherwell District Council chairman Cllr Rose Stratford and Banbury Town Mayor Kieron Mallon were presented with the golden key by William Wilson who owns the fair.

After accepting the key, the pair paraded around the town using it to strike rides which gave everyone a free turn.
