I particularly appreciated Craig Reinarson's exposition on the five myths of crack (The Post-Standard, Oct. 14).

Very early in my career in New York's criminal justice community, I attended a conference at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.

We were treated one afternoon to an unbelievably over-the-top, stem-winding, even hysterical presentation by an NYPD sergeant that could have been called "Crack Is Destroying Our Nation." He made quite luridly all the main points of Reinarson's five myths.
