LOCAL farmers are still counting the cost of the foot-and-mouth crisis in England, despite being allowed to move stock directly to abattoirs.

Although the week's earlier ban on any movement of animals has been relaxed to allow animals to go directly for slaughter, local farmer Terry Scott from Newtown Farm past Galalaw, says that his livelihood is still suffering.
