Insurers dealing with art collectors or other collectors should realize that their clients may have limited knowledge of insurance but are sensitive to issues surrounding their collection. Insurers do not need an intimate knowledge of fine arts or other subject they are dealing with, but the more they understand the irreplaceable nature of the pieces and the special risks involved the better their rapport with clients.
Many fine arts customers may know an obscure Picasso on sight, but they may not know the in's and out's of packing that Picasso for a long truck ride.
