HUNDREDS of revellers could be left stranded tonight by the first of a threatened series of strikes by taxi drivers.

All 111 black cab drivers who serve Wolverhampton are expected to join the strike from midnight.

They are angry at an alleged lack of enforcement action by Wolverhampton City Council against illegal pick-ups by private hire drivers which, they claim, are taking away their business.

The cabbies, who are also concerned at licence fees, claim the private hire drivers are "ranking up" to attract custom, and are threatening ...
