Students from the local Annabel Murcott Schools of Tae Kwon Do returned from the North Midlands Championships in Derby with 14 medals.

Making a comeback to the sport after spending five years in the army was Alex Evans from Bourne, and he struck gold in sparring, beating an England squad member along the way.

Lauren Earth from Folkingham also won a gold in sparring beating team-mate Emily Clifford from Stamford in the final.
