A MID Wales herd of Poll Hereford cattle is rapidly gaining a reputation on the Continent.

Last month a party of 40 Danish breeders made the journey to Caer-sws to see the cattle in their home surroundings, a 250-acre holding 200 metres above sea level.

As winners of the 2006 Show Herd of the Year award, the Dendor herd at Gwastadgoed, Llanwnog, was an obvious place to look for fine breeding.

Last March, two bulls were among a consignment of nine exported to France to bolster the genetics of the breed there.
