The Longford Senior Hurling Championship was thrown into disarray at the weekend when a re-fixed semi-final between Longford Slashers and Clonguish, slated for Pearse Park on Saturday last, was postponed due to an appeal lodged by the Newtownforbes club.

That appeal is set to be heard this week by Longford's Hearing Committee, an independent committee within the structures of the GAA, as part of new dispute resolution mechanisms.
