A THERAPEUTIC dip in the sea is what the vet ordered for Stevie the Douglas tram shire horse who has been off work recuperating from an abscess in his hoof.
He was spotted enjoying the surf with his handler Leanne McKee last week by reader Jenny Williamson of Lonan.
Tram horse stable worker Jon Ward said: 'He has an abscess and the vet recommended going on the beach and in the sea because the salt is good for it. It helps to clean it up and harden their feet.
