A COUPLE, who met in 1943 at a rehearsal for a production at the Open-Air Theatre, will be celebrating their golden wedding anniversary on Thursday October 11.
Ronald Jackson Stear married Lorna Rose Levitt at the former Wesley Chapel in Hoxton Road, Scarborough.
Mr Stear used to work for the Evening News as a linotype operator and later as a proof-reader.
His wife was employed for several years at Alexandra Laundry, off Columbus Ravine.
