Russian legal contradictions prevent ratification of Espoo Convention

MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax) - Contradictions between Russian environmental laws international law that were created when the new urban planning code took effect on January 1, 2007 are preventing Russia from ratifying the Espoo Convention on environmental impact assessment in a trans-border context, Rostekhnadzor said in a press release.
