Riyadh - The head of the Gulf Co-operation Council, which brings together energy-rich Gulf Arab states including Saudi Arabia, yesterday said Gulf Arabs were strongly opposed to any partition of Iraq. A US Senate resolution last week provoked a storm of protest from Iraqi politicians when it called for a federal government and federal regions as a solution to sectarian violence.
