Sep. 28--An event at the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site in Hartford will depict the struggle between European nations and the United States for control of the Mississippi River.

The event, "Flags over the Mississippi: Struggle for an Empire," is scheduled for Oct. 13 and 14 at the historic site. The event will feature authentically costumed military units from Great Britain, Spain, France and the U.S. Also featured will be Native American groups.
