Biggest accomplishment: Leading the Wireless Washtenaw effort begun two years ago to provide free or low-cost high-speed Internet access to the entire county through a public-private effort. The project will be 90 percent done by December.

Current goal: Help solve the looming leadership crisis that's expected to see up to half of public leaders retire in five to seven years by educating and advocating to high school and college students that public service is a noble profession.
