NOTING that Prime-grading cattle can earn a $250-per-head premium compared to $18 per head for age/source-verified cattle or $80 per head for "natural" cattle, Dr. Robbi Pritchard of South Dakota State University told attendees at the recent ProBeef 07 conference that managing cattle for marbling development can positively affect the bottom line.
