The history of Chu Van An High School in Hanoi, Vietnam, is presented. The high school was established by the French colonists in 1907 as the Protectorate High School as a replacement for the Dong Kinh Ngiah Thuc School, which was deemed dangerous for espousing nationalist ideals. The Dong Kinh Ngiah Thuc School was eventually closed by the French in 1908.
