This is the story of Bud, his daughter, Nancy, and Bud's parish/congregational nurse, Ellen Van Arsdale. It follows Bud over five months and weaves the story of these three major players.

Bud is an 88 year old gentleman, living in Sun City West, Arizona. He has been widowed since 1993, but maintains an active lifestyle despite living alone. He enjoys golf, stamp collecting, and has traveled extensively. He attends worship on a regular basis. He has two loving children, both of whom live out of state.
