Sep. 19--Michael Lombardo couldn't stand to live with any regrets.

He didn't make the Rock Bridge ninth-grade soccer team. He tried out again before his sophomore year and made the C team. Last season, Lombardo survived the preliminary cut for the junior varsity team, but at the end of the week he was not selected for the squad.

"He was very close to making the team," Rock Bridge Coach Kirby Keth said.

Lombardo was disappointed for a couple weeks. However, he became more determined than ever to make the varsity team ...
