Before caddis days slip away altogether and only snowflakes flutter over trout streams, let's give some credit to a rugged new dry fly spawned here in Colorado.
The CMO Caddis became, in the words of Orvis field testers who flung it at fish for a year and a half, a "Hot New Fly for 2007."
Charles M. Obermeyer, of Highlands Ranch, spun the new pattern and loaned it his initials. He gave some to friends and tried them out on the Arkansas River and elsewhere where trout give caddis flies a beating.
