AS Sir Bobby Charlton watches the heirs to his England throne limp,wince and groan through these two early September matches upon which hiscountry's chance of Euro 2008 qualification depends, it is a safer bet that hismind is drifting back to the physical demands made on him and his fellowlegends of 1966.
Charlton, like Bobby Moore and most of that England team, played more than 60matches in their World Cup-winning season. Thirty games are regarded as anoppressive workload by many of today's multi-millionaires.
