BOSTON - Matt Clement knows it's a long shot to pitch for the Red Sox this season, but the possibility keeps him going while he rehabilitates his pitching shoulder.

"If I could get one out that was meaningful in September, that would be great to me," Clement said.

The 33-year-old right-hander faced batters for the first time since undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery on Sept. 26. It didn't matter to him that it was several hours before the game and he faced teammates Kevin Cash and Brandon Moss. He was still thrilled ...
