Hilltop-perched on a late spring morning recently, I observed argosies of cumulus clouds cruise like stately shadowed castles across an azure sky. The bulging cauliflower masses looked like the billowing sails of gargantuan galleons sliding past a background of titanic minarets, noble citadels and arched vaults and through the gaping portals of vaporous, craggy Himalayas, their shape-shifting alternately revealing and hiding chambers of uncannily dazzling whiteness.
