ATHENS, Greece, Aug. 30, 2007 (IPS/GIN) -- An unstoppable inferno is ravaging Greece: Fires are still burning out of control, even as the country's government prepares to tally the enormous costs of the weeklong disaster.
The area affected by the disaster runs from the prefecture of Evia to the outskirts of Athens, and throughout southwestern and central Peloponnesus, the southern peninsula of continental Greece.
