BIOLOGY TEACHERS OF THE NATION UNITE! A recent survey of high school biology teachers revealed that more than 90 percent feel isolated from their peers across the country. To help break through this isolation barrier, Genentech, Inc., the biotechnology pioneer, has created Access Excellence, a program designed to form lasting alliances among biology teachers, scientists, and expert resources around the country.

The program will address teachers' needs by enabling them to communicate with scientists and by serving as a distribution center for information on innovative approaches ...
