Ningbo Bird records net loss of $31.4 mln in first half of the year

Shanghai. August 28. INTERFAX-CHINA - Shanghai-listed Chinese handset manufacturer Ningbo Bird Co. Ltd. announced today that it recorded a net loss of RMB 237.24 million (-$31.4 million) in the first six months of this year, compared with a net profit of RMB 31.246 million ($4.14 million) in the same period last year, due to challenges posed by the market expansion of foreign brands, smuggled and counterfeit handsets, and price wars.
