WASHINGTON, D.C--"We're fed up--and angry. We want something done. We want the criminals off our streets. Most of all, we want the fear to go away. We want to feel safe once again."

That is the message that recent polls show the American people want to give to public officials. Crime--not health care, nor AIDS, nor drugs, nor war--is now the number one concern of most Americans.
