Aug. 27--STOCKTON -- Students who do not learn algebra cannot expect to fulfill graduation requirements and to leave high school with a diploma.
Still, the numbers of students showing proficiency in this subject on statewide standardized tests released earlier this month are slipping at school districts in San Joaquin County.
