Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 1995--Kemper Corporation (NYSE: KEM) and an Investor Group comprised of Zurich Insurance Group and Insurance Partners today announced that they have reached an agreement in principle pursuant to which Kemper Corporation would be acquired in a merger transaction valued at more than $2.0 billion.

In the transaction, Kemper common stockholders would receive $47.50 per share in cash and 11 and 1/4 percent cumulative exchangeable preferred stock with a liquidation preference equal to $2.00 per Kemper share, subject to upward adjustment after ...
