NORTH-East minister Nick Brown has praised the reintroduction of red kite birds in the region as an "iconic" symbol of regeneration.
Mr Brown made his comments after visiting the successful Northern Kites project in the Derwent Valley with local MP David Anderson amid hopes the creatures could become a symbol for the region's wider transfor mation.
